The Citi Enterprise Architecture Methodology (CEAM) is a sustainable approach that employs standard taxonomies such as business process, business function and data to consistently define Citi’s Business Architecture.

The Head of Services Business Processes and Operational Resiliency will lead a new small team (3-5 individuals) responsible for driving the execution of CEMA Processes in Services in close partnership with all Services products and functions, operations, technology and Clusters, ensuring appropriate alignment among the different areas and adopters. In addition, this role will have the responsibility to drive Services Operational Resilience in an integrated manner including Critical Business Services, Continuity of Businesses and Crisis Management.

Ensuring a appropriate Business Process understanding and mapping is a critical foundation for other important initiatives such as MCA Transformation, reduction of Operational Risk Events (OREs), process automation, reduction of manual processes, enhancement of Operational Resilience, allocation of tech investments and adequate workforce management.  The new team will be responsible for the horizontal alignment of CEAM processes and adopters mentioned above in order to ensure a comprehensive implementation by Services.

This role will report to the Services COO and will support the Services COO and the Services ExCo Members who are accountable for execution of process mapping and process intelligence, working closely with process owners.

Key Responsibilities      

  • Lead, in close partnership with the rest of Services, the deployment of CEAM methodology and taxonomy across the Services business to drive:
    • Collation of inventory and documentation of Business Processes;
    • Maintain collateral on an ongoing basis to reflect technology, process and organizational investments;
    • Create, in conjunction with businesses, future state business processes reflecting planned investments and process changes;
    • Maintain alignment of Technology (current state and future state) to Business Processes;
    • Maintain inventory of resources aligned to each Business process;
  • Facilitate holistic views of Services processes and applications,
  • Support simplification and de-risking efforts of the business;
  • Drive cross Services CEAM Business Process mapping activities and ensure alignment – coordinate with the process owners, business architecture team, technology, operations, risk and controls, third party management, etc.
  • Maintain risk assessment of Business Processes on CEAM methodology and recommend prioritization efforts to remediate processes either through process redesign or technology investment;
  • Leverage process mapping driven insights to enable business decisions (i.e. headcount needs, prioritization of the book of Work) across Services
  • Provide aggregate Services visibility into “Risk Factors” - CAPs, EUCs, Data Concerns, manual touch points and bespoke processes as well as Operational resiliency opportunities.
  • Form the blueprint, via conceptual target state business architecture) for implementing technology and uplifting controls associated with processes, as required.
  • ​​​​​​​Enable an analytical view to aid in overall application rationalization for the Services organization.
  • Drive, in close partnership with Services products and function, Tech and Ops, a comprehensive and aligned Operational Resilience strategy and execution in line with Corporate initiatives
  • Be the central coordinator for Crisis Management in Services working with relevant Exco partners and Central Teams    

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 15 years in the Financial Services industry
  • Proven leadership skills as well as people and team building skills
  • Proven track record of successful execution of complex initiatives with large number of stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of Services business and products is highly preferred
  • Understanding of operations and processes
  • Understanding of taxonomy design and design mindset
  • Lean or Six Sigma background would be a plus
  • Able to converse with Product Managers, Technology, Risk and Controls, and Middle/Back Office
  • Expertise on Operational Resilience and Continuity of Businesses
  • Ability to manage through influence (e.g., management in the absence of reporting lines or with matrix reporting)
  • Ability to build rapport and work closely with key senior stakeholders and partners within and outside the business
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Risk-based thinking and analytical mindset
  • Self-starter who can work independently.
  • Strategy and execution skills to prioritize areas of focus while also driving implementation in a large, global, and matrixed environment.
  • Ability to work on virtual projects and across virtual teams to get work done.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent projects and deliverables.
