IQVIA is seeking a dynamic and experienced (Senior) Principal in Business Development for our Medical Affairs team . This strategic role is integral to our growth strategy and will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities and client relationships within the Medical Affairs sector.
Key Responsibilities
-Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue growth and market penetration targets in the Medical Affairs sector.
-Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions that align with IQVIA's offerings.
-Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Use insights to inform business strategies and decision-making.
-Proposal Development: Lead the development of high-quality proposals and presentations for clients, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet client needs and IQVIA’s standards, thereby leveraging the full breadth of IQVIA`s offering portfolio.
-Sales Leadership: Drive the sales process from initial contact to contract closure, ensuring a high conversion rate and client satisfaction.
-Thought Leadership: Establish and promote IQVIA as a thought leader in the Medical Affairs space by contributing to publications, industry conferences, and other forums.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including Medical Affairs, Analytics, Technology, and Clinical Research, to align business development activities with company goals and capabilities. Collaborate with regional and global Medical Affairs teams.
-Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance metrics, ensuring targets are met and identifying areas for improvement.
-People Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
-Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
-Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries, with a strong focus on Medical Affairs.
-Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and growing market share. Experience in negotiating and closing complex deals.
-Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Medical Affairs landscape, including regulatory requirements, clinical development processes, and market trends.
-Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; proficiency in German is highly advantageous.
-Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
