The X-Labs Operations team exists to accelerate the innovation of Comcast’s next-generation architectures and products. Overview of the Role:

X-Labs Technical Program Manager oversees and drives the strategic execution of critical and cross-functional technical innovation programs within Comcast’s National Labs. Individual employs strategic planning, risk management, resource optimization, and effective communication with key stakeholders while interfacing regularly with vendors, engineers, and peer organizations to drive outcomes. Responsible for ensuring the alignment of program objectives with organizational goals, proactively mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration among diverse teams. Individual will lead, organize, and communicate contributions to the continuing delivery of high-quality solutions while achieving stringent timelines and budgetary allocations. Candidate possesses a technical background and a passion for innovation to help guide the future of Comcast’s emerging technology and make impactful contributions to the business. Leads projects and programs in compliance with industry and Company standards, policies, and procedures – applying the appropriate project framework to achieve maximum results. Pursues in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in area of discipline while determining work priorities and serving as resource for colleagues with less experience. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and technical environment.

Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage end-to-end execution of Comcast’s National Lab technical programs, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget constraints. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and quality assurance - to drive programmatic success. 

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of program strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry trends. 

  • Work closely with stakeholders to define program objectives, milestones, and success criteria. 

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring potential issues are addressed before they impact deliverables. Developing contingency plans and escalate issues as necessary. 

  • A clear communicator with proven ability to document, analyze, and share meaningful data to drive strategic action. 

  • Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to executive leadership and key stakeholders. 

  • Collaborate with resource managers to ensure adequate allocation of personnel, equipment, and resources to meet program objectives. 

  • Optimize resource utilization and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. 

  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to define and implement testing strategies, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and solutions. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback and lessons learned. 

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork across diverse teams and departments. 

  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations. 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree with intermediate experience (2+ years) in technical program management within a technology organization, or equivalent. PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus. 

  • Basic understanding of technology, Project Management standards, and market trends. 

  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering technical programs on time and within budget. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at multiple levels of the organization. 

  • Experience with professional communication and documentation tooling, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Office, Excel, etc.), Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent. 

  • A self-starter who demonstrates critical thinking, self-motivation, time-management, courage, and curiosity.
