Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.


How you will create an impact

  • Perform application, printing, and upload of all Claims’ payments for entities managed in PR (AIGPR, AIGLAII, CAHA, AHAC, Brazil, AHAC Direct Licenses, and AHAC Jamaica) and enter in the correspondent bank platform.

  • Ascertain compliance and adequate documentation for disbursements following AIG Internal Controls and procedures.

  • Identify anomalies in payments supporting documents and verify that payments comply with Retention Tax Regulations.

  • Ensure payment documents are clear and ready to send to approvers for the proper authorization as per each bank account resolution.

  • Complete transition to have a check printing process once again in house to no longer depend on manager checks to comply with critical checks requirements in our area.

  • Maintain constant communication with claims personnel on payment issues until resolved. If needed, provide all the support needed to ensure success each day.

  • Provide customer service daily regarding Claim’s or Jamaica’s Operational payment status, bank confirmations and payment breakdowns.

  • Register Claim’s Cash Receipts.

  • Register Claim’s Internal Adjustment to record changes in claims numbers, suffixes, and reclassifications.

  • Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations for Reserve for Other Expenses and Payment in Transit - Claim GL accounts following AIG Internal Controls and Procedures. Pending items are to be investigated and given proper follow up.

  • Additional assigned related tasks.
     

What you'll need to succeed


• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field of study.
• This role is suitable for candidates with some experience in accounting.
• Language skill: fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing and conversational).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical skills and detail oriented.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office suite products specially Excel (a must) and Word.
