Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret, analyze, and present metrics/KPIs to Management. Drive corrective actions with appropriate groups to improve metrics and address exceptions.
  • Reporting to a country logistics manager and occasionally communicate and present to upper management
  • Lead the design and implementation of new business processes.  Develop and drive process improvement projects to increase service level performance and/or minimize costs.  Project scope is moderate in complexity and has regional impact; includes integration of processes with Outsourced Logistics Operations providers (3PL).
  • Follow and adhere to established business processes. Align operational process with 3PL and internal organizations. Identify opportunities for process improvements which result in increased service level performance and/or minimize costs.
  • Support compliance and control to Quality standards by adhering to documented work instructions and QMS operating procedures. Identify and participate in continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Execute to wide range of inventory responsibilities to include MRB, cycle count, and inventory reporting.
  • Generate and report internal metrics/KPIs. Monitor and log exceptions.
  • Develop and implement process improvement projects to increase service level performance
  • Minimize logistics costs and find cost saving opportunities by working closely with logistics service providers (LSP).
  • Project scope is straight forward and has local impact. Ensure compliance and control to Quality standards. Process and report weekly status of logistics control reports.
  • Review LSP’s report for exceptions and provide recommendations to management for corrective actions.
  • Closely work with transportation team to comply with customer expectation as well as expedition of urgent shipments.
  • Gather data requirements for internal/external audit requests
  • Maintain logistic information databases and data accuracy in accordance with corporate policies. 

Other Requirements: This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English
  • In depth knowledge on regulatory requirement on country transportation side
  • In depth knowledge on Incoterms and other import/export operational details
  • Warehouse operation experience


Business Expertise

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Experience in SAP MM/WM is preferred
