The Digital marketing team covers all lines of business including; Motion pictures (theatrical releases for Disney, Disney Pixar, Twentieth Century Studios, Searchlight, Marvel and Lucas Films), Retail (theatrical releases for Disney, Disney Pixar, Marvel and Lucas Films), Disney Media Distribution, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Live events and all core Disney franchises.

Key elements and required results of the role

Working with the Digital Marketing Manager in the following areas:

Social Media – Disney destinations (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram)

  • Create and assist monthly uploading schedules (across brand/ channels/ Marvel and ad hoc campaigns).
  • Liaise with Networks team, local agencies and regional teams to maintain and manage YouTube Channels and the various Facebook page content.
  • Brief designer on various social image sizes.
  • Liaise with regional to source programming clips.
  • Facebook post copy writing
  • Create localised assets and activities for all social channels
  • Assist Digital Manager with Social Media strategies, driving engagement and traffic across all Disney Social Media destinations.
  • General community management across all pages.
  • Actively participate in internal monthly Social Media planning meeting.
  • Actively participate in monthly report calls with local agencies.
  • Reporting on all social platforms for quarterly reports.
  • Scheduling and understanding of Khoros system.
  • Management of social media competition across the pages
  • Up-to-date understanding of industry changes and social media channels.

Disney online destinations (disney.co.za)

  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with the rest of the marketing team (based locally and in regional).
  • Manage general site updates including updating copy, content and monthly priorities.
  • Ensure all marketing activities are supported across all online destinations where possible.
  • Working closely with regional interns on video content.
  • Ad hoc assistance with creation of local online stunts from brief to execution and post competition analysis.

General admin

  • Monthly management reporting
  • Competitor insights
  • General out the box reporting
  • Assist marketing team on all things digital

Relevant experience, Qualifications and People Management experience

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines across a number of lines of business at the same time.
  • Must have solid knowledge of digital and social with some experience in these areas.
  • Digital qualifications advantageous.
  • Experience of content management systems an advantage, but not essential.
