Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for reconciling and validating ceded premiums and losses for reinsurers and reinsurance brokers. 
  • Review reinsurer premium invoices and validate amounts due. 
  • Manages cash and research discrepancies.
  • Resolves payment discrepancies with underwriters and reinsurers.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly premium and loss bordereaux.
  • Effectively and efficiently track reinsurance loss billings.
  • Manage overdue amounts and follow up with reinsurers and brokers
  • Process ceded payment.
  • Apply cash receipts in reinsurance system as needed.
  • Participate in Financial Audits and respond to all applicable audit requests timely and accurately.
  • Work closely with other Reinsurance Accounting team members, and members of Finance, Underwriting and Claims departments.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of experience.
  • Property and casualty accounting background/knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Need strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
