Position purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, designs and implements recruitment strategies, as well as liaison and recruitment activities, for all of the faculty's graduate programs in order to maximize outreach and attract the very best students. Organizes and leads promotional campaigns, generates web content and develops communication plans to project a positive image of the faculty, promote its brand and increase its visibility.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison and Recruitment Activities: Develops and implements innovative recruitment strategies for all of the faculty’s graduate programs in order to attract students to the University and achieve the faculty’s recruitment objectives. Plans and coordinates visits with future students to promote programs, achievements and day-to-day activities of the faculty or University. Acts as a resource person for inquiries pertaining to program requirements and University services to increase the appeal of graduate programs for future students. Develops and maintains a network of alumni to maximize the faculty’s outreach and visibility.
  • Event Promotion and Management: Organizes student recruitment and other special events in order to project a positive image of the faculty and/or University. Forms and chairs event planning committees, identifies elements and timelines, monitors and communicates progress. Develops event budgets and ensures that all activities are within budget limits. Designs and develops promotional material, and promotes events to target audiences to maximize outreach and participation.
  • Web Content Management: Anticipates and meets ongoing operational needs by generating web content in accordance with web, official languages and accessibility standards, and with established policies. Develops and evaluates performance indicators for web usage and usability, and coordinates improvements to maximize the effectiveness of the web sites for the faculty.
  • Marketing: Develops and implements marketing strategies for the faculty based on digital marketing best practices and trends. Collaborates with graphic designers and photography and printing professionals to produce marketing materials that promote the faculty to future students while ensuring compliance with design standards.
  • Communications: Develops and implements an annual communications plan to support communications needs for various internal and external target audiences, contributing to the strategic plan and the faculty brand. Writes content for annual reports, news bulletins, brochures, speeches, web sites, social media and press releases and coordinates translation.
  • Quality Assurance: Develops performance indicators and monitors performance by carrying out consultations and surveys in order to maximize the effectiveness of liaison and recruitment activities of the faculty. Analyzes results and makes improvements to optimize the use of recruitment and advertising tools.
  • Trends and Needs Analysis: Conducts market research studies and analyzes the results to identify priorities and critical paths for all recruitment and liaison activities and to recommend new initiatives.
  • Supervision: Supervises administrative support staff as needed and ensures that their work complies with established standards and directives.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field an asset
  • Ability to develop marketing and digital communication strategies
  • Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and experience in applying them
  • Knowledge of the Canadian university sector and its administrative structures
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and software including graphic design and web applications, spreadsheets, databases, the internet and email
  • Experience giving presentations to large groups in both official languages
  • Experience planning and organizing events
  • Project management experience
  • Strong public relations, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel outside of the city for recruitment activities
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work outside of normal office hours
