Job Description Summary:

PayPal’s Global Analytics & Data Sciences (GADS) team is responsible for developing and enhancing machine learning and data mining capabilities, which are key in PayPal’s top-of-the-line data-driven decisions, especially in the risk and counter-fraud domains. The GADS RADAR team is looking for an intern Analyst to support data science projects by performing bottom-up research, including account reviews, fraudulent activity detection, web research, lead generation and data sources discovery & evaluation.

As an Analytic Support Intern, you will be part of a unique team of experts, working closely with data scientists and product managers to improve GADS models and solutions by looking at the data from a bottom-up perspective. The position is open to students with at least 2 years remaining before graduation.

As an analyst, you will support multiple data science projects by performing bottom-up research, including account review, customer profiling, fraudulent activity detection, web research, lead generation, and data sources discovery & evaluation. In this position, you will get to learn a lot about data, analytics, and PayPal as a business. We are looking for a highly motivated team player with solid analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and a passion for data. 

Your day to day 
In your day-to-day role, you will work closely with data scientists, product managers, and your team members – a team of talented interns, with a passion for data and analytics. You will do research such as identifying risky activity, analyzing data gaps, web intelligence, and more. The projects are changed every few weeks, so you will get to see a lot of business use cases and learn about PayPal ecosystem.

What do you need to bring

• Student status - 2 years remaining before graduation, preferably in one of the following: Economics, Business, Finance,
• Availability for 50%-60% position
• Technical orientation; SQL & Excel knowledge– advantage
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Great analytical skills and data orientation
• Personal skills:
• Quick independent learner
• Attention to detail and the ability to understand a story from a few details
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Strong research & analytical capabilities
