Overview of Role

The position will support the development of data collection procedures, preparation of data access and management tools, collection of user feedback and integration of the necessary changes. The role is front facing, requiring direct collaboration with business stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis and design of our solutions
  • Development of data pipelines, dashboards, reports, advanced analytics and data management tools.
  • Improve the ergonomics and functionality of the internal data models.
  • Expand the collection of public market data.
  • Identify and clean incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate data.
  • Maintain the data collection system to ensure up to date data freshness.
  • Work in a quick-release iterative environment relying on good communication with the business users.
  • Able to work independently without much supervision.
  • Self-motivated, enjoy exploring new technology/implementation and mental challenging assignment.
  • Able to work with deadlines.
  • Other Ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager

Profile

The individual should have the following experience:

  • Higher education in computer science or related field
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Relational database experience (design and querying)
  • Development of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines
  • Authoring reports and dashboards
  • Involved in data quality assurance
  • Master/Referential data management
  • Following software development best practices (source control, bug tracking, testing)
  • Experience working in a commodities trading environment is a plus.

  • Scripting
    • preference to scripting languages with strong data processing/statistics ecosystems (ex. Python, R).
