Job Description:

We’re looking for a Head of Audit Services to join our team at MBPS. In this role, you are accountable for planning, directing, and leading a team to deliver high quality, professional, cost-effective, value-added, and risk-based audits services of assigned areas, segments, and countries (including and not limited to MBPS, global functions, Asia, US, Canada and GWAM segments and Manulife Bank).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead an engaged audit team to execute various types of audits and reviews of assigned areas, segments, countries (including SOX) in accordance with the audit methodology, departmental standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Assess adequacy of risk management and internal controls of assigned areas, segments, countries. Present findings to and reach agreement with the business unit management; make practical and value-added recommendations to improve control environment and efficiency and effectiveness of operations

  • Own relationship management responsibility of assigned areas, segments, countries

  • Lead the team to utilize data analytics techniques and other technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit process

Qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years of relevant cumulative experience in life insurance, or pension and asset management; well-versed in audit methodologies, control frameworks, and risk management techniques

  • Minimum of five (5) years in a directorship capacity with a regional or global scope

  • Excellent communication skills, able to deal with confrontations and resolve conflicts

  • Strong stakeholder management - proven relationship skills including ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels

  • Challenges the status quo and proactively makes suggestions for continuous improvement

Nice to Haves:

  • Recognized accounting (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) or auditing (CIA, CISA) professional designation

  • Data analytics – familiarity with Power BI and/or Alteryx as an end user

  • Experience in managing teams and stakeholders in different geographies
