Job Description Summary:

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care administered to meet or exceed the continuum of care and in accordance to Mammography Quality Standard Act (MQSA)
Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, responsible for daily operations of assigned unit. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assigns and monitors patient care according to age specific needs, assessment, acuity, needs, plan of care, and competency of assigned personnel.

  • Responsible for all quality control required to meet MQSA and FDA standards.  Consults with regulatory inspectors as needed.

  • Responsible for maintaing ACR Accreditation

  • Participates in training, evaluation of employee performance, counseling, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and dismissal for assigned personnel.

  • Responds to complaints and incidents, conducts investigations, takes corrective action, and prepares documentation.

  • Evaluates workflow and volumes and assigns staff accordingly

  • Manages work and time off (PET) schedule

  • Evaluates, recommends, and orders adequate supplies and equipment necessary for delivery of quality patient care.

  • Evaluates, interprets, and implements hospital policies and procedures for assigned unit and recommends changes as needed.

  • Provides clinical and classroom instruction in field of mammography as necessary to include patients and staff

  • Responsible for seeing that occurrence reports are processed appropriately.. Gives departmental feedback to appropriate management

  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the profession. Such proficiency is acquired through completion of an associate, diploma, or baccalaureate degree in the Radiography field. Additional educational preparation in administrative techniques is desirable.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

  • Registration as Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), CPR certification required.

  • Maintain current ARRT license in Mammography

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least two -(2) year's continuous/current experience in mammography

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the profession.

  • Consistently smiles and is pleasant to patients, visitors and co-workers. Cheerfully adheres to and promotes the "Quality Plus" and departmental "Service Excellence" expectation standards.

  • Skill and proficiency in all Hospital and Radiology EMR systems
