What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Senior Cyber Analyst SME with extensive experience in investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents to join a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract. This role requires a deep understanding of both vulnerability and threat analysis, with a focus on creating effective processes and procedures for managing cyber risks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing cybersecurity reports, identifying environmental vulnerabilities, tracking threat actors, and developing repeatable processes to handle security issues.

What you will do as a Senior Cyber Analyst SME: 

  • Investigate, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring proper containment and resolution.
  • Analyze cybersecurity reporting to identify environmental vulnerabilities and threats posed by actors.
  • Develop, document, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cybersecurity processes.
  • Track and assess vulnerabilities and threats to determine their potential impact on the organization’s systems.
  • Work with security teams to implement cybersecurity measures and maintain an up-to-date incident response strategy.
  • Provide expert insights on cybersecurity risks and threat mitigation to improve overall security posture.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor the cybersecurity environment and adjust procedures and strategies as needed to stay ahead of evolving threats.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizen (the nature of our contract requires employees be US citizens)
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Proven experience analyzing cybersecurity reports related to both vulnerabilities and threat actors.
  • Strong ability to develop and document repeatable processes for SOPs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on mitigating cyber risks.
  • Strong communication skills to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are a plus.
  • Experience in federal contracting or working in a government-related cybersecurity environment is highly preferred.
