The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager Tool Die Making 1, for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. The chosen candidate will be the Engineering Tech Support Manager for the ATL Foundry tool equipment parts inventory along with Foundry program material inventory and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing a team of represented and non-represented personnel to support the ATL Foundry and Foundry Programs.

Other responsibilities include:

- Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies

- Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential

- Support communications with stakeholders with status reports of parts inventory and service

- Work independently across the organization to meet Fab needs and goals

- Review and approval of procurements of direct reports Purchasing Card

The Manager Tool Die Making 1 will be responsible for current concepts, practices and procedures utilized in the field, as well as having a strong interest in new technological applications. They will also insure tooling support to build/ maintenance for production transition and sustained efforts, which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Monitors and manages Risk items to insure mitigating actions are effective and timely and promotes Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives as well as sharing of lessons learned and best practices throughout the organization.

Supervises employees involved in the daily operations of Milling Machine Machinists,  and or Dimension Control Technician SOW, fabrication of tools, building of jigs and fixtures, template and pattern making, and model building.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 5 years related experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling/tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration and/or fabrication industries experience

  • Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience in a related field

  • US Citizenship required

  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Tool Die Making or Machine Shop Experience strong background in assembly tooling, machine shop operations, welding, periodic tooling inspections, verification's, and reworks

  • Experience working in Automated tooling environment  #NGMCFab

Salary Range: $109,800.00 - $164,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
