Job Description Summary

The Production Quality Manufacturing Engineer leads the manufacturing cell in aspects of quality assurance & control and is responsible for the quality KPIs of the cell. This role reports directly to the site's Quality Manager.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build-in-Quality (PFMEA, MSA) Champion for the cell

  • Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) for the cell

  • Daily review of non-conformances, defect rates monitoring for required short term, medium term and long term actions.

  • Lead and Drive problem solving Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and effective implementation of Corrective and Preventive actions

  • Facilitate Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) to meet cell's SQDC KPIs

  • Drive initiatives to reduce defect rates

  • Owner of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) issues and events in the cell

  • Resolution of customer's quality complains related to cell's products

  • Support cell in implementation and adherence of Quality Management Systems QMS) requirements

  • Raise quality awareness, conduct quality briefs, monitor and exercise Quality Stop Works

  • Assigned supply chain internal auditor to facilitate/ conduct audits for compliance and improvements


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

  • 3 years operational, quality and engineering experience in manufacturing industry preferred

  • Strong communications, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Gas Turbine component manufacturing experience will be an added advantage


Desired Characteristics:

  • Understanding of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems and experienced in quality internal audits

  • Highly skilled in Root Cause Analysis especially in solving technical complex problems

  • Practitioner of Lean/ 6 Sigma methodologies

  • Experienced in sustaining built-in-quality culture in manufacturing industry
