Purchasing Coordinator – Pico Rivera, CA

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be a key contributor to a vital part of our business – the manufacturing of high-performance special purpose doors and windows for industrial, commercial and institutional markets. You will be responsible for providing administrative support on various levels to the operations of the manufacturing plant and working collectively with the Plant Management/Distribution Team daily, as well as interacting with visitors, customers, and vendors.

What You Will Do:

  • Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines
  • Enter and monitor purchase orders for indirect and direct materials, service contracts and facility maintenance (i.e., Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) purchase orders and invoices).
  • Procurement of office supplies, operational supplies, IT supplies for office, plant and warehouse use for daily operations; maintain files of vendors and purchases for accounting purposes.
  • Coordination of payments to vendors for services provided to the facility; ensuring services were provided as directed and submitted to corporate for payment without penalty or default.
  • Maintain records, files and proof of items that are required by federal, state, and local authorities and laws to operate in a certain location (i.e., insurance, maintenance inspections, etc.).
  • Provide data entry support and other general administrative support deemed necessary by the plant management.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • A high school diploma or GED and 3 - 5 years of similar work experience; Associates degree or higher level of education preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Computer skills are required to develop effective reports, enter orders, process purchase orders, procure supplies, pay invoices and assist with general data entry and office management.
  • Strong background in using multiple software programs and screens to accomplish tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • You must have the ability to lift 30 pounds with ability to sit for long periods, keyboarding and staring at computer screen continuously.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range: $39,500 - $65,800.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
