Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) sector is seeking a Program Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role is based out of Melbourne, FL.
The selected candidate will support a large flight systems hardware and software development, integration and execution program and is responsible for leading the team of hardware, software and test engineers to develop the flight hardware and software for aircraft development program. The individual works in partnership with the Program engineering organization and Execution IPTs to derive staffing requirements and estimates. This role collaborates in the allocation of requirements, develop integrated hardware and software solutions, and support integration and test at the subsystem and system level. Recent and relevant experience in Model Based System Engineering and understanding of digital threads, digital twins, and integration across air vehicle, software, and avionics design and analysis tools.

Key Responsibilities include:
Positively lead, inspire and motivate a team to execute to plan
Effectively coordinate across multiple program IPTs to manage change and configuration of requirements

Lead a team of technical team members to deliver technical capabilities
Leadership of a team of direct reports where you will define goals, develop the team and ensure the team is continuously performing and growing into expanded roles.
Manage team to baseline schedule and cost allocations
Actively manage Risk, Issues & Opportunities to ensure program execution success
Partner with functional disciplines to define and integrate expertise into the team
Be a digital advocate, applying new tools and functionality to drive execution efficiencies
Define, negotiate, monitor & track performance of suppliers; manage change and ensure performance to plan

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below
Related experience includes a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions
At least 3 years’ experience in program/project management
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company, and with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
Prior roles in development of complex vehicle management flight systems, real-time systems and/or safety critical applications
Prior roles executing on digital programs within a digital engineering ecosystem
Experience leading a team in a matrixed environment to achieve program goals
Program management experience on Agile programs applying incremental planning and delivering programs on schedule
Experience leading teams developing, integrating, and testing vehicle management, flight control, and associated subsystems
