About This Opportunity
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Principal Learning Designer to provide support to academic staff with designing curriculum, assessments, and active and flexible pedagogies to enhance teaching quality in courses and coursework programs within the Faculty.
Reporting to the Teaching and Learning Manager and working under broad direction, the Principal Learning Designer will provide pedagogical support and guidance across multiple Schools in the Faculty of Health, Medicine & Behavioural Sciences.
Key responsibilities will include:
Support staff across the Faculty with the uptake, design, development and evaluation of learning technologies, resources and pedagogies.
Identify and promote innovative approaches to enhance the student experience in online and face to face environments.
Advise university teaching and management staff on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of online resources that support student learning.
Engage with senior stakeholders and other subject matter experts to advance pedagogical outcomes across the University community of practice.
Collaborate within the HMBS Learning Design Team working towards the design, development and implementation of curriculum projects.
Identify and build relationships/partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to advance the learning outcomes of the University, particularly supporting and enhancing the relationship between HMBS and ITaLI.
Design and deliver presentations, training activities and workshops.

About You
You will hold degree level qualifications, with at least four (4) years of experience in developing online and on-campus resources, informed by an advanced understanding of how higher education students learn; and the agility to work across disciplinary boundaries to realise contemporary curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment design.
In addition, you will possess:
Demonstrated understanding of enablers and limitations of educational technology and best practices to support student achievement and engagement, teacher effectiveness and teaching innovation.
Demonstrated ability to apply pedagogical theory, contemporary practice and practical experience to analyse complex teaching and learning situations and apply high-level problem-solving skills to develop appropriate and innovative face to face and online learning solutions.
Proven ability and experience in using a range of technologies including learning platforms and associated software for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of online learning resources and environments to support student learning.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative linkages with diverse stakeholders, and a demonstrated commitment to responding to client needs.
Demonstrated ability to work iteratively, adapting quickly to change and operating effectively both on an autonomous basis and as a member of a collaborative, client-focused team.
