You desire impactful work.
You’re RGA ready
RGA is a purpose-driven organization working to solve today’s challenges through innovation and collaboration. A Fortune 200 Company and listed among its World’s Most Admired Companies, we’re the only global reinsurance company to focus primarily on life- and health-related solutions. Join our multinational team of intelligent, motivated, and collaborative people, and help us make financial protection accessible to all.
A bold, commercially driven, and enterprise-oriented leader responsible for defining and executing RGA's unified data and AI strategy. This role will lead the transformation of RGA into a data and AI-led organization by enabling data-driven decision-making and AI-enabled innovation across all business functions, ensuring these capabilities become core to the company's strategy, operations, and culture. The ideal candidate will drive disciplined, cross-functional alignment across the business, regions, and corporate functions, translating complex data and AI capabilities into scalable, compliant, and outcome-driven solutions. Success in this role requires strategic vision, governance fluency, and the ability to orchestrate enterprise-wide impact through influence and clarity.
What you will do
- Enterprise Data & AI Strategy: Define and lead RGA’s enterprise strategy for data and AI, anchored in measurable financial and operational outcomes. Position data as a strategic asset, with AI and technology as enablers of business growth, scalability, and client solutions. Enable enterprise level capabilities, frameworks and investment as it relates to data engineering, including how data is collected, stored, processed, and analyzed to maximize usability and impact. Ensure the strategy reflects both long-term innovation and near-term business needs.
- Commercial Alignment & Governance: Align data and AI strategy to client, business, and market needs, ensuring commercial relevance and enterprise value. Establish a structured RAPID decision framework to guide solution selection, prioritization, and governance alignment. Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to uphold governance standards while enabling flexible adoption of emerging technologies. Ensure regulatory and technological developments are reflected in business-led strategy.
- Execution Leadership & Conflict Resolution: Drive disciplined execution of data and AI initiatives by aligning stakeholders around shared goals and priorities. Resolve cross-functional tensions and resource constraints to maintain strategic focus and delivery momentum, escalating issues to the CSO for executive-level alignment. Monitor execution progress and enforce accountability through consistent practices, transparent reporting, and clearly defined ownership across delivery teams.
- Knowledge Sharing & Standardization: Foster transparency and reduce duplication by driving coordinated knowledge sharing across business, regions, and corporate functions. Identify and evaluate opportunities for standardization in data and AI practices, balancing enterprise consistency with functional flexibility. Advise the CSO on standardization decisions in consultation with EC leaders to ensure strategic alignment and scalability. Enable enterprise scale and reuse by embedding shared learnings, proven frameworks, and best practices into core delivery models.
- Cross-Functional Influence & Enterprise Enablement: Serve as a strategic orchestrator, integrating data and AI strategy into existing enterprise capabilities to drive scalable impact, through influence and enablement, rather than direct ownership or control. Cultivate trusted partnerships across the enterprise to ensure execution remains tightly aligned with strategic goals and enterprise priorities. Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and AI-enabled innovation by fostering the integration of these capabilities into core processes and leadership behaviors.
- Strategic Planning & Performance Measurement: Integrate the data and AI strategy into enterprise planning cycles, ensuring alignment with investment decisions, initiative roadmaps, and long-term business objectives. Define clear KPIs and value realization metrics to measure the financial, operational, and client impact of data and AI initiatives across the organization. Collaborate with business, regions, and corporate functions to translate performance insights into strategic decisions, resource prioritization, and continuous improvement efforts. Maintain a living strategy framework that evolves with internal progress, market shifts, and emerging technologies—ensuring relevance, agility, and sustained enterprise value.
