About the Unit

Greenville's MedSurg and ICU Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. We value teamwork, culture, and process improvement from each member of our team! We care for patients having a short stay due to a variety of conditions including COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, Cellulitis, Post-Op Care, Total- Joint Post- Op Care, etc. 

Scope of work

The Nursing Technician role is a fast-paced role requiring strong communication and teamwork skills, regardless of the department you are working in. 

This is a direct patient care role, and duties will include Taking Vitals, Checking Blood Sugar, Wound Care, Bed bathing, Toileting, Ambulating, Catheterization, and acting as safety attendant for patients as needed.  Additionally, you could be involved in Postmortem care or floated to another unit to cover a shift.

Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.  Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.  Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or ARC is required within 90 days
