About this role 

In this role, you’ll be thinking big and small, collaborating with cross functional partners to shape the way that the brand influences each customer touchpoint. You’ll take ownership of everything, working with a wide range of internal as well as international partners to ensure brand consistency and global relevance. Additionally, you will have a significant opportunity to help us further scale the Udemy brand, evolving guidelines/templates/assets and playing a significant role as brand steward across the organization.

What you'll be doing

  • Champion the evolution of our design system and brand identity toolkit with a focus on scalability and consistency across the organization
  • Ensure all work aligns with design principles and brand standards
  • Continually update and improve upon our brand guidelines
  • Utilize visual storytelling skills to create concepts that inspire and motivate 
  • Concept and implement design ideas quickly, producing comps, storyboards, initial graphic concepts, and final deliverables for emails, advertising, and promotions
  • Be a master multi-tasker, brainstorming and developing brand assets  for multiple projects simultaneously, remaining flexible through revisions while keeping a keen eye on every detail
  • Create consistent and scalable design solutions across digital and traditional channels including web, email, social, video, events, etc
  • Collaborate with copywriting and video team to ensure creative content is  powerful, vivid, compelling and works in harmony 
  • Work as part of a larger brand team alongside creative directors, producers, campaign managers, and production designers, to ensure that all projects are completed on time
  • Work closely with the brand team leadership to develop and facilitate design critiques and design exercises

What you’ll have

  • 8+ years of experience at a creative or ad agency, graphic design firm, or in-house creative department
  • The ability to easily understand the implications of design decisions on a global level
  • Knowledge of digital design and advertising  (i.e. web and mobile design, email, paid ads, social, product design)
  • The visual skills and desire to inspire customers and deliver a world-class experience
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and tactically to articulate compelling visual language concepts, mood boards and design with high quality renders
  • Experience in concepting, ideation, execution and a robust portfolio that shows your talent in both print and digital spaces
  • Expertise of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
  • Experience working with accessible design principles, user flows, testing, low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes 
  • Deep understanding of how to apply  design and research methodologies with qualitative and quantitative data to solve key business problems
  • Ability to utilize user research and metrics to inform design decisions
  • Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, understanding of HTML/CSS and web browser capabilities. Proficiency (or a desire to learn) Figma, and/or other prototyping tools. 
  • Highly collaborative with willingness to work in group settings while meeting deadlines for multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Experience with illustration, iconography, infographics, video, motion graphics and other dynamic tools is a strong plus

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits and equity.
