Job Description:

The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation and distribution of financial statements for internal and external use and evaluating certain complex and judgmental accounting issues across the company.     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft SEC financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Compile internal financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for internal management and regulatory filing purposes, including preparation of a quarterly cash flow statement and statement of stockholders’ equity.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand and document financial results compared to budget and forecast.
  • Assist with certain Corporate accounting activities including acquisition-related purchase price accounting, departmental general & administrative expense reviews, and accounting for judgmental reserves.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and analysis on corporate-level accounts as needed.
  • Research SEC and U.S. GAAP regulations and pronouncements and assist in preparation of technical memos and process changes as required.
  • Assist in the development and update of Company accounting policies and identification of process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts.
  • Assist external auditors with requests related to quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Assists in development of team’s short-term goals, and plays a key role in setting department’s long-term and strategic goals
  • Frequently encounters problems with ambiguous solutions, and standardized solutions often require analysis of multiple complex factors
  • Synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data
  • Writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information
  • Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; aligns work with strategic goals
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting & CPA license required
  • At least two years public accounting; Big 4 audit experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Workiva, Active Disclosure or similar reporting software preferred
  • Experience with Workday strongly preferred, but not required
  • Public company experience desired
  • Retail, service or hospitality experience desired
