DXC Practice for Oracle is the largest independent provider of Oracle consulting and managed services in Australia and New Zealand. DXC Practice for Oracle provides dynamic technology leadership in delivering Oracle Cloud solutions, with a full continuum of services around Oracle’s integrated suite of applications, platform services, and engineered systems.

We are seeking an OCI Infrastructure Architect & Team Lead with deep experience in Oracle-based environments to join our well-respected Cloud & Infrastructure Team.  This role will be primarily architecting & implementing OCI-based infrastructure solutions for a wide variety of customers, as well as supporting team members in building components as part of these solutions.  This will also extend to providing OCI SME guidance and support for BAU infrastructure requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in managing a team responsible for Oracle-based Infrastructure project and operational deliverables.
  • Gathers technical requirements and translates requirements into infrastructure and software capabilities.
  • Communicates technical architecture direction and coordinates technical proof of concept analyses.
  • Assists in solving technical and performance problems within the technical infrastructure.
  • Participates in providing gap analyses, from a technical perspective, highlighting current state, future state, client needs, best practices and competition.
  • Interacts with confidence and ease when interacting with middle- and senior-level managers; uses complex strategies like indirect influence to build consensus and support.
  • Assists sales staff in qualifying leads and generating proposals.
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Communicates in formal presentation settings including proposal orals, client workshops and regional internal events; develops proposal sections, methodology work products and formal written deliverables covering area(s) of expertise.

Basic Qualifications

  • Consulting experience with technical architecture analysis and design in Oracle-based environments – at least 5 years.
  • Strong Linux (OEL/RHEL) and/or UNIX (Solaris/AIX) system administration skills – at least 5 years.
  • OCI infrastructure architecting, implementation and BAU support experience – at least 4 years.
  • Team Lead experience – at least 3 years.
  • Administration and implementation experience with Oracle ExaCS (OCI Exadata Cloud Service) – at least 2 years.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult with & guide clients up to CxO level.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be physically based in Australia – any Australian state is acceptable, but Victoria preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain an Australian security clearance – minimum Baseline, preferred NV2.

Other Qualifications

  • Oracle DBA experience, or strong familiarity in supporting Oracle DBAs on Oracle-based infrastructure.
  • Relevant OCI & Oracle certifications.
  • Proven technical infrastructure design skills.
  • Experience implementing & managing infrastructure on Azure and/or AWS clouds.
  • Exposure to Terraform and/or Ansible.
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  • Ability to devise creative technical solutions.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid – primarily WFH, but with regular office attendance.
  • May require evening or weekend work.
