Position Summary
 

The Vice President of Sales is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for driving the growth and profitability through effective sales strategies and team management. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, and a proven track record of success in sales.


Job Description

Key Outcomes:

  • Develops and implements comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive market share growth. This includes identifying target markets, developing sales plans, and setting performance metrics.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Uses market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for growth. Use insights to inform sales strategies and product development initiatives.
  • Provides strong leadership and direction to the sales team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, employers, and industry partners. Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to clients.
  • Collaborates with product development teams to identify market needs and opportunities. Provide input on product features, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.
  • Oversees sales operations, including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting. Implement tools and processes to optimize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all sales activities.
  • Identifies and pursue strategic partnership opportunities to expand market reach and enhance the value proposition for customers. Negotiate partnership agreements and manage ongoing relationships.
  • Provides regular reporting and analysis of sales performance metrics to senior leadership.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA strongly preferred
  • 10 + years   in managed care with comprehensive experience in health plan sales, including progressive leadership experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies (Behaviors):

  • Deep working knowledge of Medicare; Knowledge of TRICARE benefits preferred
