We are seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle Shared Services to join our team in a remote capacity. This position can sit in any state except for Alaska or Hawaii.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage strategic and operational initiatives, programs and projects involving department, cross-functional teams and practice operations focused on the delivery of a product or program through concept development, design process and into the finished state. These programs or projects can be internal or for external customers.
- Develop and execute team’s business strategy, including the support and execution of technology road map (practice management systems, related revenue cycle technology implementations, RCM functional centralization) and other related strategic initiatives, in partnership with other RCM stakeholders and support service leaders.
- Strategically centralize cash activities across the network, partner with RCM leadership and support teams to create standardized processes focused on efficiency and automation. Develop and promote adherence to central services policies, procedures, and training materials for applicable shared services. Lead and/or partner with leads on process or system implementations. Collaborate with RCM Support Team for project management resources and coordination. Role may include oversite of additional centralized support services.
- Oversee CBO practices working to provide RCM support, metric reporting and alignment, process and implementation guidance and offer best practice solutions. Oversight of CBO practices will serve in a matrix capacity where the position will not have direct authority over systems, people, and process but rather work in a consultative capacity as needed or requested by the practices.
- Responsible for overseeing and managing outsourced partnerships by developing and monitoring metrics and reporting procedures to ensure compliance with contract service level agreements.
- Facilitates development of strong interpersonal relationships between internal and outsourced teams, leading all teams through multiple phases of culture change.
- Provide oversight and support for any other business function and/or operations management as needed by the leadership.
- May oversee customer business requirements, providing non-technical and some technical support and direction for relevant revenue cycle technology pilot, development and implementation projects. This role may serve in a product or program leadership role in a matrix type of organization, where the position may not have direct responsibility over systems or process development.
- May have P &L responsibilities for product lines, operating region or a business function as needed. May directly manage a team of Managers or production team members responsible for different operational or functional areas.
- Develops and executes business initiatives and roadmaps with practice leadership, support and product management teams, including practice management system implementations, functional centralization and supporting technology implementations.
- Scope is in two parts:
- Includes transitioning to a centralized model within the first 6 months, strategically expanding central services across the network within the first 12 months.
- Oversee all CBO practices by providing consultative services; including metric visibility and reporting, on-site visits (as needed), and process review, promotion of network offerings and general network communications. Developing a trusted rapport with all CBO leaders.
- Role will have direct reports from production to manager level. Provides guidance to the team to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
- Manages and develops the team talent required to achieve the goals.
- Establishes and recommends changes to policies or operating models which affect the revenue cycle or supporting organization(s). Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules.
- Manages, through direct line managers, the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. Frequently interacts with team leaders, customers and/or functional peer group leaders. Will interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company
- Other duties as assigned. Receives any other assignments as needed in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
Minimum Requirements
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.
Education
4-year bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field or equivalent experience
Critical Skills
- 10+ years’ experience in technology implementation, product or program management, including 5+ years managerial experience
- 5+ years of revenue cycle management experience
- 5+ years of leading teams, specifically coaching and developing teams
- 5+ years of board or senior leadership level meeting experience
- 5+ years of vendor management experience
Additional skills:
- Track record of positive conflict resolution in complex matrixed environment
- Accomplished leader with outstanding teamwork and general management skills
- Evidence of creativity, intensity, high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, balance between analytical and intuitive skills and a willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves” to apply these attributes
- Thorough knowledge of project management
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
- Strong sense of urgency and drive to produce results
- Understands the “big picture” and is able to juggle many priorities
- Understands and is able to navigate dynamics and politics within practices, Network support and McKesson corporate teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of billing systems platforms (Centricity strongly preferred) and oncology billing
- Analytical skills to identify opportunities to improve revenue cycle performance, process and workflow
- Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
Salary: 97,200.00 - 129,600.00 - 162,000.00 USD Annual (Target 125K with 20% MIP)
