The Director of Data Strategy and Operations will lead the development and execution of the data strategy within the Market Access function. This role is crucial in driving the organization’s ability to make data-driven decisions and enhance market access through robust data management, advanced analytics, and innovative reporting solutions. The Director will manage a team responsible for data governance, data architecture, reporting, and analytics operations, ensuring that data initiatives align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy to support Market Access goals, ensuring alignment with the broader business strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify data needs and opportunities for leveraging data to drive business results.
  • Lead the integration of data strategy across various departments, including Commercial, Tech, and Finance.

Data Governance and Quality

  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations Commercial guidelines.
  • Implement data quality management processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across all sources.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data dictionaries and data use cases.

Data Architecture and Management:

  • Partner with Tech to design and oversee the data architecture to ensure scalability, flexibility, and integration of data systems.
  • Lead initiatives to modernize data infrastructure, including the adoption of new technologies and platforms.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and data providers, ensuring data availability and quality.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Drive the development of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI to support Market Access decisions.
  • Oversee the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of data and analytics projects, meeting the needs of internal and external customers.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including data engineers, analysts, and reporting specialists.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
  • Support development plans that enhance the team’s skills and knowledge in data management and analytics.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related matters within the Market Access function. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data initiatives are aligned with business needs.
  • Present data strategy and insights to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

 Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data strategy, or analytics with 5 years in a leadership role
  • 5+ years background in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly in Market Access, Commercial Operations
  • Experience in managing large-scale data projects and leading cross-functional teams

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with data architecture, data governance, and data quality management
  • Experience data analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Databricks, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience managing Market Access data sources (e.g., formulary, claims, hub, specialty pharmacy, etc.)

Up to 10% travel

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across the organization
