Goal

The Senior NA Retail Enterprise Project Manager provides broad and effective leadership on large, complex projects as well as strong tactical project management and administration.  This position is responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing multiple NA Retail Installation projects to drive the delivery of quality solutions that meet performance objectives and are delivered according to schedule and within budget.  This position is Expert-level, and uses leadership skills, industry best practices, and independent judgment to organize, plan, manage and lead large, highly complex, installation projects.  The Senior Project Manager builds high-performing teams and directly manages the efforts of team members, and third-party contractors in the delivery of NA Retail Installation projects. 

Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                

  • Manage and control the planning, execution and delivery of project deliverables by directing, facilitating, influencing and coordinating project related activities & resources to ensure completion is on time, within budget and meets or exceeds the sponsor’s expectations according to the PMO defined project installation management standards.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external customers and vendors. Analyze stakeholder expectations and maintain the relationships by keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on requirements and deliverables.
  • Determine project goals and priorities with customer and internal leadership, drawing on significant prior experience to make recommendations impacting the outcome of the project.
  • Manage and control the planning and execution of the project scope including the development of clear scope statements and customer acceptance criteria and establishing solid project change control through project change request creation, submission, and approval by the appropriate governing body. 
  • Create a comprehensive baselined project schedule including internal and external task plans using inputs from project team members to define task effort estimates, overall work effort schedules, task dependencies and project interdependencies and manage and control the work performed.

  • Manage the development and execution of the project communication plan including audience, key messages, message intent, delivery medium, creator, distributor, timing/ frequency, and status for status reporting, issue escalation, and all other information sharing needs.
  • Track and report transparent, factual, and timely progress information to project stakeholders, team members, and executive leaders regarding project health/status and variances to plan, cost and schedule, and change control to ensure continual awareness and to enable informed decisions.
  • Manage and control project issue identification and ensure that problems are resolved in a manner that satisfies the project stakeholders and does not compromise major goals of the installation project including driving resolution and escalations as needed to appropriate parties.
  • Ensure all required project documentation is current and accurate including scope, schedule, financials, issue/risk logs, resource forecasts, requirements, and technical and testing documents, is stored in the project repository and is appropriately archived upon project closure.
  • Coach and educate all project resources to ensure full understanding of their individual roles and responsibilities on the project as well as understand the processes by which the project will be managed and controlled that by which the solution will be developed and delivered.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  Offers assistance where needed to maintain efficient work flow. 

Requirements:

Education:                        

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, Business Administration, Computer Science or any other related field or equivalent preferred.
  • CAPM/PMP Certification, as well as other PM certifications if required by the PMO

Experience:    

  • 5+ years of formal project management experience in IT, Construction, and Field Installation project management is desired                                          

      Skills:                               

  • Self-starter requiring minimal to no guidance/direction on Project Management
  • Strong leadership skills with significant experience, including influence management, team building, conflict resolution, negotiation, organizational change management, and emotional intelligence.
  • Advanced computer / MS Windows skills, including software applications such as MS Word,    PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet, etc
  • Ability to manage and direct multiple complex projects simultaneously to drive solutions that meet or surpass customer expectations and deliver project milestones on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply formal PMI-based project management principles and techniques to direct, educate, and motivate employees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex and detailed information to a diverse population.
  • Exceptional problem-resolution and process improvement skills.
  • Superior analytical, organizational, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Fully versed in administrative and budgetary management functions.
  • Sensitivity to the other person’s point of view to influence behavior or turn a situation around.
