What does a Senior Cloud Application Support and Security Specialist really do at TaskUs? At TaskUs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning, security, and reliability of our organization's applications within the Agile Development Team. Think of yourself as someone whose primary focus will be on providing technical support for Cloud-based applications hosted on AWS, resolving application-related issues, implementing security measures, and collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the overall performance and security posture of our applications throughout their development lifecycle.
Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: The Senior Applications Support and Security Specialist within the Agile Development Team will be instrumental in ensuring the robustness and security of our applications throughout the development process. By working closely with Agile teams, you will contribute to the delivery of reliable, high-quality software solutions that meet both functional and security requirements.
As a Senior Cloud Application Support and Security Specialist, you will:
- Application Support: Assist in providing technical support for application-related queries and problems. Diagnose and troubleshoot application problems, ensuring prompt and effective resolution. Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and usability concerns.Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and suggest long-term solutions.
- Cloud Expertise: provide expert-level support for applications hosted on AWS, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Assisting in the deployment and management of applications on Cloud platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services, including but not limited to Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and others. Monitor and analyze AWS CloudWatch metrics, logs, and alarms to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Security Implementation: Monitor and maintain the security of applications, systems, and networks. Implement security best practices and policies to safeguard data and mitigate risks. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing. Respond to security incidents promptly, investigate breaches, and implement remediation measures. Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively address potential risks.
- User Training and Documentation: Provide training to end-users on using applications securely and effectively. Create and update documentation, including user guides and standard operating procedures. Develop and deliver security awareness programs to promote a security-conscious culture.
- Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Support the implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes for applications.
Work with the Agile Development Team to automate testing, build, and deployment processes. Ensure the integrity and reliability of application deployments during the CI/CD pipeline.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor application performance and take proactive steps to optimize and improve efficiency. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and patches.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and implement solutions. Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Participate in team meetings, discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in application support and security implementation.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile Development Teams
Familiarity with Cloud Technologies. AWS preferred.
Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, and common security vulnerabilities
Experience with security tools such as static code analysis, web application firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
Understanding of programming languages such as JavaScript or Python.
Knowledge and experience of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
