Job Description Summary

AAM is seeking a Customer Service/Scheduler to join the team at our large powder metal facility in Ridgway, PA.

As a Scheduler/Customer Service representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes and maintaining excellent customer relationships. Your primary responsibilities include coordinating production schedules, managing order fulfillment, and serving as a liaison between the manufacturing team and customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in material planning within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Job Description

  • Customer Service: Serve as the main point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, providing updates on order status, and resolving any issues or concerns. Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining a high level of communication and responsiveness
  • Inventory Coordination: Work closely with inventory control teams to monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of materials needed for production.
  • Order Management: Process customer orders, monitor production progress, and ensure that orders are completed and delivered on time. Address any delays or issues that may arise during the production process.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop, manage, and adjust production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. Coordinate with the production team to prioritize and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, order statuses, and customer interactions. Prepare regular reports for management on production performance, customer satisfaction, and any scheduling challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling processes and enhance customer service practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.

Required Skills and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience in scheduling, customer service, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in using scheduling software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • This role requires a dedicated individual with a strong dedication to customer happiness and the ability to handle the demands of a busy manufacturing setting.
