The Strategy Director will serve as the strategic lead for the client, driving media and integrated communication strategies that accelerate business growth and strengthen long-term brand equity. This role goes beyond traditional media planning to encompass end-to-end consumer engagement, data activation, and innovative partnerships. The Strategy Director will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, ensuring Carat delivers measurable impact and thought leadership for the client’s iconic portfolio.

Job Description:

Key Accountabilities


Strategic Leadership

  • Lead all media and integrated strategy development for the client’s full brand portfolio, with emphasis on big bet brands.

  • Translate the client’s business vision into actionable strategies that deliver brand growth and market leadership.

  • Champion innovation by unlocking new platforms, forging breakthrough partnerships, and future-proofing the client’s consumer engagement ecosystem.


Integrated Consumer Engagement

  • Build holistic end-to-end consumer journeys across touchpoints (media, digital, data, activation).

  • Drive the use of consumer insights and analytics to inform strategy, optimize impact, and measure success across brand building, conversion, and trial.

  • Extend strategic influence beyond media to integrated communications and data activation.


Client & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as senior strategic advisor to client leadership, ensuring strong alignment between business goals and communication plans.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and global/regional stakeholders to deliver unified strategies.

  • Foster trust-based partnerships that elevate Carat’s role as the client’s long-term business partner.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Inspire, mentor, and lead a team to deliver high-quality strategic outputs.

  • Foster a collaborative, data-driven, and innovation-oriented culture within the team.

  • Develop talent pipelines to ensure capability growth in strategy, media, and integrated planning.


Person Specification


Knowledge & Experience

  • 8–12 years’ experience in marketing, communications, media, or strategy (beer or beverages experience a plus).

  • Broad expertise in media planning/buying across all channels, with strong foundations in brand, communication, and marketing strategy.

  • Proven experience in translating data and insights into growth strategies.

  • Track record of building integrated consumer journeys and driving business outcomes through media and communications.

  • Experience collaborating with business leaders to shape communication agendas.

  • Demonstrated ability to measure and evaluate media’s impact across the funnel.
