Resource Development Engineering (RDE) is a highly skilled and innovative team that specializes in the development of technical tools such as Hydra, Voyager, ROL, and other cutting-edge solutions. These tools are crucial for both our presale and postsale engineers, enabling them to deliver exceptional service and support to our valued customers.


Job Description

This position is remote and candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Field Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge coverage-related tools that enable us to quickly respond to complex customer bid requirements. The ideal candidate will have field or CCDT design experience and a strong desire to write software, even without formal computer science training. You will collaborate closely with our software engineers, writing proof-of-concept tools that can be seamlessly deployed by the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to understand complex customer bid requirements and develop innovative coverage-related tools accordingly.

  • Utilize field or CCDT design experience at MSI to effectively create new tools that address customer coverage requirements.

  • Demonstrate a strong desire to write software and contribute to the development of cutting-edge tools.

  • Write proof-of-concept tools that can be handed off to software engineers for deployment.

  • Work closely with RDE senior researchers to explore new and novel approaches to coverage design.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in coverage design methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Field or CCDT design experience.

  • Strong desire to write software and develop innovative tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex customer bid requirements.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team.

  • Self-motivated and proactive in seeking out new approaches and solutions.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and languages.

  • Experience collaborating with software engineers in deploying tools.

  • Knowledge of coverage design methodologies and techniques.

  • Passion for staying updated with industry trends and advancements.

  • Experience with working on pre or post sale engineering team

This position is remote and candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar technical field and 2+ years of engineering, software or similar technical experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
