We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Business Operations Manager to support the Medical Writing (MW) Department. The Business Operations Manager will work with and support the MW Strategic Resourcing Lead (SRL) in identifying and accelerating operational activities across the MW Department that are critical to delivering the MW strategy.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
Organize Departmental Activities: Coordinate various departmental activities to minimize wasted time and materials.
Improve Operational Efficiency: Enhance existing tools using technology to drive operational efficiency.
Key Performance Indicators and Analyses: Develop, interpret, and provide key performance indicators and analyses.
Implement stakeholder engagement strategies to influence decision-making and behavior change, improving productivity across the portfolio.
MWLT Meetings Planning: Assist in planning MWLT meetings, including setting agendas, identifying key participants and stakeholders, tracking decisions and actions, and maintaining risk logs.
Strategic Planning and Recommendations: Develop strategic plans and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making and drive small business transformation projects impacting the department.
Business Benefit Analyses: Conduct business benefit analyses, including return-on-investment assessments, problem-solving, and strategic thinking. Integrate key information to ensure on-time delivery of project or business milestones.
Diverse Work Packages: Undertake various work packages in different situations and environments.
Stakeholder Navigation: Effectively navigate multiple stakeholders in a complex and ambiguous environment.
Relationship Building: Build strong relationships and influence others without formal authority.
Strategic Thinking: Think strategically about key issues affecting medical writing and its organizational implications. Be organizationally savvy in dealing with leaders
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline or in sciences with additional certification/experience in project/program management, resource management, change management, or finance.
Industry Experience: Extensive experience in pharma, biotech, CRO, or related roles, with scientific and operational credibility demonstrated through effective delivery in a matrix-driven environment.
Decision Navigation: Proven ability to navigate decisions and execute tasks through multiple parties in large, matrixed organizations.
R&D Knowledge: Broad understanding of research and development (R&D).
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage strategic or operational business projects, structure projects to meet objectives, and understand change management principles.
Experience in leading small strategic projects is a plus
Data Analysis: Experience with sophisticated data analysis and the ability to draw conclusions even in the absence of definitive quantitative evidence
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Self-Motivation: Self-directed and highly motivated, with the ability to prioritize efforts for the most significant business outcomes
Curiosity: Curious and able to engage at all levels within and outside the organization to gain diverse perspectives
Effective Communication: Highly effective communicator, both spoken and written, and an attentive listener
