CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Infrastructure Solutions, the Database Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Maintain and improve infrastructure related to their area of expertise.

  • Actively support database servers (SQL Server and others) for the various applications deployed.

  • Diagnose and take corrective action to ensure optimal performance and capacity.

  • Resolve incidents, requests or changes (planned or unplanned) assigned to him/her.

  • Provide technical support and escalate unresolved issues to external vendors or experts.

  • Advise and assist developers on complex aspects of database methodologies.

  • Participate in the design and approval of logical and physical databases.

  • Develop, write, test and apply the procedures necessary for the smooth running of IT operations.

  • Develop and enforce database configuration, access security, and backup/recovery standards.

  • Actively participate in project teams and product development delivered by the Business Solutions group.

  • Ensure availability for "On Call" support on a rotating basis with team members.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

  • Proficiency in administering the different versions of SQL Server (2016 and above).

  • Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis, Integration, and Reporting services (2016 and above).

  • Excellent command of T-SQL programming, optimization and troubleshooting.

  • Experience in Azure SQL Services/AWS/GCP...

  • Experience in MySQL service administration, Postgres,...

  • Asset: Powershell, JSON, Python and REST API scripting,...

  • Knowledge of automation tools (RedHat Ansible or other).

  • Experience in Agile methodology
