Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of project management basics including: Schedule building, tracking, management, and cross-functional (R&D, Development, Production, Continuous Improvement, Quality, & Supply Chain) communication utilizing project management tools. Budget management and risk management.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Product Development and Continuous Improvement to identify improvement opportunities and translate them into actionable projects. Participate in Kaizen or similar continuous improvement events, offering guidance on structuring projects and initiatives.
- Prior experience scoping, planning, executing, and closing medical device projects.
- Proven ability to define and manage scope across the product development life cycle. Establishment, organization, facilitation, and effective follow-up for cross-functional team meetings.
- Strengths in relationship building through technical know-how; able to lead SME’s through influence and credibility to influence outcomes and achieve project objectives.
- Ability to lead team through a systematic Stage Gate product development process.
- Experience organizing and presenting key project metrics, progress, and risks during Project Reviews.
- Ability to multi-task between projects as directed, i.e. management of development of projects and CIP opportunities. Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues is essential.
- Outstanding verbal & written communications skills.
- Experience and competence in dealing with external customers.
- Ability to forge strong, transparent customer relationships while also protecting Confluent’s interests. Skilled at customer negotiation and ensuring common understanding of requirements & expectations.
- Strong presentation capabilities including the ability to develop and deliver formal communications at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to quickly and constructively respond to the unexpected, balance tact, negotiation, and directness. Willingness to challenge team members and teammates to ensure expected outcomes are realized and/or exceeded.
- Ability to develop insight into internal and external business models, performance metrics, and financial drivers. Strong ability to manage project budgets.
Education and Experience:
- BS degree in a technical field (engineering or science). MS degree in Materials Engineering or Materials Science is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the unique properties and behavior of Nitinol materials is preferred with a strong technical understanding of tube drawing fundamentals is a significant plus.
- Min 14+ years of project management or related experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Medical device industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to work with and understand statistical concepts and techniques.
- PMP Certification and/or Professional Project Management Certificate preferred.
