Job Description Summary:

The NA Channel Partner integrations team is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, senior Engagement Manager to collaborate with GMS and cross-functional colleagues and lead our largest and most strategic Channel Partner integration initiatives. This individual will work directly with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Integration Engineers and post-live support teams throughout the pre-sales/solutioning stage to integration launch and rollout. 

Job Description:

The Global Merchant Services (GMS) team is responsible for providing implementation services on PayPal’s Payment, Identity and Risk Platforms, as well as our Partner/Marketplace solutions and global product offerings. We work with Account Executives to understand our merchants’ business objectives, envision solutions, and turn our shared vision into reality. We bring our passion and leadership principles to deliver amazing consumer experiences to our Global Core and International Markets. Within GMS, the Channel Partner segment works with global ecommerce, PSP, and B2B platform providers to offer our services to SMB’s and Enterprise customers, allowing PayPal to grow at scale.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, senior Engagement Manager to collaborate with GMS and cross-functional colleagues and lead our largest and most strategic Channel Partner integration initiatives. This individual will work directly with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Integration Engineers and post-live support teams throughout the pre-sales/solutioning stage to integration launch and rollout. 

The ideal candidate has solid payments industry business acumen, combined with strong project management skills to support our merchants through complex integrations, testing and product rollouts. You will be expected to provide “voice of the customer’ guidance in cross-functional product discussions related to functional design, solution, and integration. Agility, clear communication, a growth mindset and a customer champion focus are highly valued.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be an industry consultant and trusted advisor for merchants and partners, understanding multiple PayPal products and integration models
  • Understand the merchant’s business requirements, success criteria and short and long-term strategy
  • Manage internal resources on a project basis
  • Coordinate, manage and support all efforts for complex projects with multiple stakeholders - includes integration and rollout planning, project management, risk/dependency mitigation and independently manage minor escalations
  • Understand all aspects of a merchant integration and ecosystem, including those for which PayPal may not be directly responsible in order to provide effective consulting
  • Communicate project and initiative status updates up to senior leaders
  • Show leadership and act as a mentor to team members and peers within PayPal

Job Requirements:

  • Passionate about learning new technologies
  • Capable of handling competing priorities, time sensitive deliverables, and make informed decisions
  • Collaborating to create successful end-to-end payment solutions and experiences across multiple internal units including Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations
  • Ability to manage several concurrent implementations with internal and external project teams
  • Communicate key insights and metrics for existing projects to internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent customer facing and interpersonal skills, and deep relationship management aptitude
  • Independently manage the most complex integrations, including those with multiple use cases/products, multiple 3rd parties, and internal product development (or co-development with a merchant)
  • Create presentations to share with internal teams and senior leaders describing project status, risks, lessons learned and recommendations
  • Ability to influence others across cross-functional teams and lead with authority
  • Drives process improvement and optimization, both internal to the team and externally
  • Ability to continually grow product knowledge, and train others on processes and product solutions

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge in global payment products, point of sale, ecommerce and business solutions
  • Proficient in the project management methodologies prevalent in the industry
  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills, proven leadership abilities, leads with empathy
  • Prior Consulting or Professional Services experience (Software, IT)
  • Industry knowledge on mobile and web applications
  • Leverage technical and business acumen to deliver payment solutions
  • Technical knowledge of PayPal’s products, architecture, and platforms
  • 10+ year’s professional related experience
  • Experience in leading or managing teams (directly or indirectly)
  • Has established and rolled out cross-functional best practices, methodologies, templates, tools, utilities and processes for appropriate standardization of engagements and integrations

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$107300 to $259600
