We currently have six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Kilkenny, Longford and Sligo and a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. Abbott Diagnostics

As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the Diagnostics (“Core Lab”) business and continued commitment to manufacturing at our European sites, we now have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Process Engineer – Moulding, to join our global Division Engineering team, working with our cGMP manufacturing sites and suppliers/partners in Ireland and across Europe.

THE ROLE:

• Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, Robotics, HMI, SCADA, Vision
• Develop, test, commission & support machine control software
• Support our Technical Validation team in creating validation documentation required for regulated industries (URS, FDS, SDS, FAT, etc)
• Specification of control system components
• Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary project team throughout an entire project life cycle
• Provide technical direction & support to other controls team members at our manufacturing sites.

REQUIREMENTS:

• PLC & HMI experience essential, preferably with Allen Bradley, Siemens.
• Expert knowledge of automated machine design, specification & development
• Proven experience with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics etc
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organisational skills
• A quality minded outlook and a problem-solving attitude
• Needs to work well in a multifunctional team
