This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

The principal function of this role is to support the Consultant Relations team in the management and enhancement of the Firm’s investment consultant relationships. The Consultant Relations Associate ensures the consultant community is well informed of HarbourVest’s key messages and current initiatives. This is achieved by the organization of meetings (including some attendance), production of consultant-focused updates, internal coordination of information related to consultant engagement, and punctual, accurate and informative responses to inbound consultant requests.

Additional functions include tracking and monitoring the fundraising process and creating, editing, and updating data across HarbourVest’s CRM and marketing communications efforts. The Consultant Relations Associate is an identified resource to investment consultants working with HarbourVest. This person will also provide strategic administrative support to the Consultant Relations team, as needed.

What you will do:

Provide Critical Support to Consultant Servicing Efforts: 70%

  • Field requests and serve as point of internal contact for investment consultants.
  • Assist CR team in business development activities including managing consultants’ diligence process, tracking field consultant coverage, and researching new consultant relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to enhance infrastructure surrounding fundraising efforts.
  • Manage Firm’s external communication to consultants (quarterly updates, Firm marketing events and AGM, fund launch materials, etc.).
  • Coordinate responses to consultant-led RFP / RFIs, consultant databases, and ad hoc requests in partnership with the Sales Enablement Team.
  • Prepare presentation materials, agendas, and coordinate team participation in on-site strategy due diligence sessions.
  • Track results and gather feedback on consultant-driven searches and commitments.
  • Partner with Account Mangers to plan target consultant engagement for the year, as well as manage and prioritize consultant meetings.
  • Review and provide the status of consultant engagement across strategies in market for weekly team meetings.

Data Integrity: 30%

  • Maintain and update data in the CRM system to ensure accurate contact information and client coverage, as appropriate.
  • Update HarbourVest records on key consultant contacts (departures / additions / transitions) and firm news (acquisitions, mergers, searches, hires and terminations) captured from industry news.
  • Work with the Commercial Operations team to optimize campaigns, client reporting, underlying client activity tracking, and develop resources profiling key consultants.
  • Develop and improve CRM reporting to maintain up-to-date, comprehensive coverage of all consultant relationships.
  • Integrate data intelligence and news from external databases (Preqin, eVestment, finSearches, etc.) into the CRM.

  • Proficienct in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Optional: Experienced with Salesforce as a CRM

Education Preferred:

  • B.S/B.A or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in Investment Management or Financial Services preferred.
