Job Title: Clinical Account Manager
Department: Field Sales

Position Overview:
The Clinical Account Manager (CAM) is responsible for supporting physicians, staff and both new and existing patients in the hospitals, office setting and associated satellite offices. The CAM will support the overall growth of Insulet’s business through effective account management by focusing on HCP influence, patient trainings, account in-services, educational support, and collaborating with supporting functions to build key account relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate execution of approved territory and customer specific plans adhering to all institutional and account guidelines and protocols:
- Conduct physician office and team educational trainings
- Conduct initial patient training and appropriate patient follow up based on the approved protocol established by site
- Install Glooko and provide education as necessary
- Identify and develop key opinion leaders as advocates
- Provide clinical insight and value to grow our business and enhance customer relationships.
- Lead, collaborate and support the CSM’s outside of the positions geography to ensure trainings are conducted within regional/national policies, and support material is approved per the pharmacy operational rules.
- Participate in district meetings for training purposes, information updates, and sharing field intelligence information.
- Account management which includes providing regular updates and keep commercial leadership informed of site activity, material approvals, and regional and local office requests.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS required with a minimum of five successful years in clinical sales role. At least 50% of which, in the medical specialty of diabetes. Strong medical industry experience in diabetes and CSII therapies as well as clinical & diabetes training experience required.
- Successful track record.
- Certification or Registration required; CDE/RD preferred; certification in advanced diabetes management preferred.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Patient training expertise preferred. Professional and polished presentation skills, virtual training skills, and skill knowledge transfer.
- Advanced diabetes management skills specific to insulin requiring diabetes. Deep understanding of the diabetes landscape and pump space.
- A detailed understanding of the complexities of healthcare systems and account management. Expert understanding of clinical practice recommendations and clinical protocols for training patients on insulin pump therapy following National Practice guidelines and National Standards of Care.
- Should have a solid background in market and account development, creating and implementing successful business strategies that drive market and sales growth. Must be able to effectively strategize both independently and collaboratively to develop plans to effectively operate within assigned account.
- Strong contributing member of the commercial team; demonstrated ability to work effectively and in matrix environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Must possess strong leadership and business development skills. Ability to lead without authority to achieve desired results.
- Self-starter who needs minimal direction; extremely flexible, with a solid business acumen.
- Strong listening and interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
- Effectively persistent and persuasive, while also being appropriately flexible and resilient, to respond to changing business and customer needs.
- Strong computer proficiency and data analysis required.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail and be well organized.
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
- Valid driver’s license required.
- This position requires regular business travel. The work environment will be with the clinical team in HCPs offices, hospitals, clinics, as well as home office and car. Frequent travel for training sessions and company and sales/clinical meetings as requested.
- Some lifting (up to 30 pounds) may be required when sending or receiving shipments, in handling samples, supplies or literature, and transport of laptop computer and iPad device.
The base pay for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and incentive compensation is uncapped (based on the achievement of goals).
