Lutheran Hospital’s 5D Unit specializes in the care of orthopaedic and acute medical-surgical patients immediately post operatively. Patients in this unit have typically undergone total joint replacements, lumbar and/or cervical decompressions, fusions, and laminectomies. This unit also treats general med/surg patients and is capable of telemetry and ongoing cardiac monitoring. The exceptional care from the nursing team on this unit has led to a reputation for quick patient turnover and excellent patient education. As a PRN Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans, and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ condition.
