Position Summary
The Meritain Business Continuity Program (BCP) Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive business continuity and resilience program across the organization. This role ensures operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation in alignment with strategic objectives. The BCP Manager will lead cross-functional efforts to assess risks, develop recovery strategies, and coordinate crisis response for all critical business functions, with a focus on medical claims processing and third-party partnerships, while leveraging Enterprise BCP teams, tools, processes, and engagement.
**Position may be remote or hybrid depending on candidate location and commute to office.
What you will do
Program Development & Governance
Establish and maintain the Meritain-wide BCP framework, policies, and procedures.
Lead the development of governance structures, including roles, responsibilities, and escalation protocols.
Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessment & Business Impact Analysis
Conduct and update Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and Risk Assessments across departments.
Define and validate Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
Identify critical dependencies, including IT systems, vendors, and personnel.
Continuity Planning & Testing
Develop and maintain continuity and recovery plans for all business units
Coordinate and lead regular tabletop exercises, simulations, and plan testing.
Document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Crisis Management & Communication
Develop and maintain crisis communication protocols and stakeholder engagement plans.
Serve as a key member of the crisis response team during incidents.
Ensure communication templates and channels are tested and ready for deployment.
Vendor & IT Resilience
Evaluate third-party vendors for continuity capabilities and contractual compliance.
Partner with IT to ensure infrastructure resilience, data backup, and disaster recovery readiness.
Training & Awareness
Design and deliver training programs to increase organizational awareness and preparedness.
Promote a culture of resilience through ongoing education and engagement.
Required Qualifications
5 years business continuity, disaster recovery experience, appropriate certifications are a plus.
Understanding IT systems and infrastructure
Experience in healthcare, insurance, or third-party administration (TPA) strongly preferred.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Proficiency in BCP software and tools.
Knowledge of HIPAA, ERISA, and other relevant regulations.
Ability to calmly and professionally lead under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications (Preferred)
CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional)
MBCI (Member of the Business Continuity Institute)
PMP, CISA, or CISSP a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$54,300.00 - $145,860.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
