Pay Range:
$29.06/hr - $31.97/hr with opportunities through our pay-for-skills program!

Schedule:

  • Hours: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Flexibility: Availability required for holidays, weekends, rotating shifts and on-call shifts as needed.

    MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:
    Conducts maintenance and repair activities necessary to sustain and optimize plant production and equipment required in manufacturing.

    The Process Maintenance Technician Operator will be responsible for performing diagnostics and repairs regarding mechanical/electrical aspects of machines and equipment. Must be able to disassemble, repair and reassemble machines and equipment. Routinely, performs complex mechanical assignments. This position is responsible for supporting production by repairing and installing industrial machinery.

    The technician shall also repair, maintain, replace, install, and test systems for machines and equipment. Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble or malfunctions. Analyzes equipment failures, determines root cause, and makes necessary adjustments. Applies advanced working knowledge and experience to independently improve maintenance techniques.

    Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

    • Troubleshoot mechanical machine failures by disassembly and inspection of components.
    • Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting.
    • Determine root cause of failure and correct condition to prevent reoccurrence.
    • Develop, document, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment reliability.
    • Knowledgeable in the use of ladder diagrams, control schematics and P&IDs.
    • Use Company computerized maintenance management system to record and access maintenance-related information.
    • Understand and comply with Company and job safety requirements (O.S.H.A.)
    • Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment.
    • Acquire new electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge
    • Competent use of test equipment to test, trouble shoot, and repair systems to ensure proper working conditions before turning such systems over to plant personnel for operation.
    • Read and understand labels, job site maps/directions, instruction manuals, and written instructions accurately.
    • Understand and comply with all NEC, state, and local codes.
    • Perform alignment checks and mechanical clearances as necessary to ensure proper repair/replacement and operation.
    • Repair electrical equipment, performing preventive and predictive maintenance.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of industrial machinery operation.
    • Knowledge of bearings, gears, drives, power transmission, pumps etc.
    • A strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication and electrical drawings and schematics.
    • Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills.
    • Verifiable competency in setting bearing clearances
    • Ability to use dial indication for alignment
    • Verifiable rigging and lifting competency.
    • Welding knowledge a plus.
    • Preferred: Completed 70E training.
    • Preferred: Experience working with instrumentation in manufacturing environment.
    • Preferred: Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or CMMS knowledge.

    Work Environment:

    • Ability to work in potentially loud and in strong odorous environments, different physical environments, or in various weather conditions
    • Must be able to move about in the processing areas and be able to do the following: lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for sustained periods; climb stairs and ladders; bend; reach; push; pull, enter tanks, and wear harness
    • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
    • Able to work in cold and hot environments for extended periods of time.

    • Ability to safely drive a forklift and other equipment.

    Position type and expected hours of work: Full time position, be willing to work any day of the week, an off shift and/or rotating shifts as applicable or assigned. Overtime may be requiredM-F 40 hours per week.

    Required education and experience:

    • 2+ years’ experience in a comparable role
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Must be able to complete pre-employment assessments as required
    • Must be able to pass a background check for education, work history, and criminal record
    • Must be able to successfully pass a physical and drug screen as applicable by local government

    • Read, write, and speak English
    • Able to safely perform duties of the job as required
    • Work in a team environment with minimal supervision
    • Strong communication skills to share information, data, and ideas with peers and leaders
    • Demonstrate good decision-making ability and communication skills
    • Computer literate and SAP experience a plus
    • Able to develop and apply mechanical/problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and Food Safety, a plus
    • Forklift experience, a plus or ability to get forklift certification, required
