Northrop Grumman is seeking a well-qualified Principal Engineer Field to join the Fort Worth, TX site in support of the F-35 Lightning II Program!
 
Candidate is expected to have an understanding of the technical principles, theories, subsystem functions, and general knowledge of combat aircraft system design and operation and the impact of same on aircraft maintenance and repair. Candidate should have a familiarity with a range of aircraft maintenance specialty areas, such as hydro-mechanical/propulsion, avionics, munitions/weapon system, and airframe structure maintenance. Candidate must have an understanding of the multi-tier aircraft maintenance concept, with a working knowledge of Depot Level Repair requirements as performed by Military Service Depots (MSDs). Ability to perform various field-related tasks including: Field Test, and Field Operations, providing engineering support to the Depot team and customer team through the performance of analysis, and requirements development, identification of critical items and document controls, and support to customer reviews. 
 
Candidate will represent Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) and support the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Team’s efforts to establish the infrastructure to manage, maintain and provide technical support for Air System depot-level maintenance and repairs. NGAS Depot Engineer will be embedded in a customer Depot Value Stream Team (VST) and be the designated NGC depot lead, responsible for all technical aspects related to NGC depot activity, including coordination with Lockheed Martin (LM) Aero's depot lead.
 
Individual must have the ability to prepare and present briefings to senior leadership and external customers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft tools.

Candidate will organize and manage multiple Depot Operations, to include managing supplier activity and communication between the suppliers, customer and the F-35 program office. Candidate will oversee/manage depot operation progress to meet technical and schedule requirements. Tasks include hosting telecoms, conducting multi-day management reviews, resolving conflicts and issues, coordinating NGC engineering support, and overseeing technical demonstrations at the MSD and supplier locations for depot operation efforts.

Candidate shall manage the suppliers’ provision of technical assistance, technical data updates, calibration services, and depot repair support services as specified in the statement of work which include: managing supplier Depot Technical Action Requests (DTARs) responses in a timely manner, providing semi-annual & annual updates to depot activated system SDRLs for Components Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Depot Maintenance Planning Data, Depot Level of Repair Electronic Build of Material (eBOM), Depot Workload Projection report, Repair Discard Recommendation. Candidate shall support the delivery of suppliers’ on-the-job training (OJT) to USG MSD personnel, oversee supplier’s equipment installation/acceptance test activities and repair instruction validation on Depot Activated systems. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years aircraft maintenance experience or 3 years with Master's Degree or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Management of Field/Intermediate/Depot Level Maintenance activities.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Current and active DoD Secret clearance
  • Field service or prior military experience
  • Depot Level Maintenance Experience
  • Management of Field/Intermediate/Depot Level Maintenance activities in Aircraft/Weapon System Programs

Salary Range: $84,600.00 - $127,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
