CAD Technician (GIS & Geotechnical)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented CAD Technician (GIS & Geotechnical) to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing geospatial data, producing detailed CAD drawings, and supporting geotechnical projects. This position requires a combination of technical expertise in GIS and CAD software, as well as a strong understanding of geotechnical principles.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Working with Shapefiles, thematic Maps,  Conversion from CAD , KMZ & Geo databased
• Create, update, and maintain geospatial data using GIS software.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings for geotechnical projects, including site layout plans, cross-sections, and geological profiles.
• Supporting engineering teams by converting conceptual designs and structures sketches into technical drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Collaborating with various engineering disciplines to produce accurate and coordinated technical drawings.
• Perform spatial analysis and data visualization to support geotechnical investigations.
• Manage and organize large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct field surveys and collect geospatial data as needed.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in geospatial data management and CAD drafting.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Diploma Geospatial Science, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with 8 years experience.
• Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Understanding of geotechnical principles and practices.
• Experience in creating and managing geospatial data and producing CAD drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data management and drafting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in geospatial data management and CAD drafting.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Certification in GIS or CAD software.
