Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Intern to join our finance team, with a primary focus on budgeting activities. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in budget preparation, analysis, and monitoring. As a Finance Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy and helping to drive informed financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of departmental and company-wide budgets by gathering and organizing financial data.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze historical financial data to identify trends and inform budget projections.

  • Variance Analysis: Help in tracking actual expenditures against the budget and preparing variance analysis reports.

  • Forecasting: Support the finance team in updating forecasts based on current financial performance and anticipated changes.

  • Cost Analysis: Assist in reviewing and analyzing costs to help identify opportunities for cost savings.

  • Report Generation: Prepare and update budget reports, charts, and graphs for internal meetings and presentations.

  • Budget Adjustments: Help in making necessary adjustments to budgets as directed by the finance team.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date budget documentation, ensuring all relevant data is properly recorded.

  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects related to budgeting, including scenario analysis and financial modeling.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

    • Basic understanding of budgeting principles and financial forecasting.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Experience: Previous experience or coursework in finance, accounting, or budgeting is advantageous but not required.
