This role is part of Enterprise Engineering (EE), where we provide technical standards, tools, processes, training, and subject matter expertise for product engineering and manufacturing. EE allows all Blue Origin business units to benefit from commonly used capabilities, hardware, and software and assists business units in identifying, selecting, and training engineers from both inside and outside the organization.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, you will support the Blue Origin drive to be the world’s best manufacturing company deploying a highly automated, model driven business system across design, planning, procurement, fabrication, assembly, test, and maintenance. This role involves creating seamless integration of data across various stages of the product lifecycle, enabling end-to-end visibility, traceability, and connectivity from design and engineering through manufacturing, supply chain, and service operations. You will collaborate closely with engineering, IT, manufacturing, and business leaders to ensure the digital thread strategy aligns with organizational goals and enables efficient product development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, develop, and maintain the digital thread architecture that integrates various enterprise systems (e.g., PLM, ERP, MES, CAD, IoT) and ensures seamless data flow across the product lifecycle.
Define and implement the standards and frameworks for data interoperability, traceability, and governance across the digital thread.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions that support the digital thread strategy.
Develop workflows that connect systems, data, and processes to create a unified product lifecycle management experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement digital thread solutions that improve product innovation, reduce time-to-market, and enhance operational efficiency.
Lead efforts to integrate existing tools and systems such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms.
Ensure the digital thread supports real-time data sharing, product lifecycle traceability, and cross-functional collaboration between teams.
Develop data models, architecture, and governance policies for managing the digital thread’s data flow, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security across multiple systems.
Enable analytics, simulations, and digital twins by ensuring that the digital thread provides high-quality data for real-time decision-making and predictive insights.
Work with key stakeholders, including product engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, IT, and quality teams, to align the digital thread solution with business objectives.
Serve as the point of contact for digital thread initiatives, advising leadership on digital thread strategies and best practices.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital thread, digital twin, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize digital thread performance and ensure it evolves with business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
7+ years of experience in system architecture, solution design, or enterprise-level digital transformation initiatives, preferably within manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
Proven track record of implementing digital thread, PLM, or other complex enterprise integration projects.
Deep knowledge of enterprise systems such as PLM (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault Systèmes), ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MES, and IIoT platforms.
Strong understanding of data management, integration patterns (e.g., APIs, middleware, data lakes), and interoperability frameworks.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture is preferred.
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies such as digital twin, additive manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and smart factories.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on delivering value-driven solutions.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage timelines and deliverables.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

CO applicants is $132,397.13-$185,355.98;WA applicants is $143,989.50-$201,585.30Other site ranges may differ
