The CSIS Analyst is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.
Responsibilities:
- This role will manage projects and programs related to intelligence, governance, budgets and financing, technology, training, communications, reporting, risk and control management
- This job will drive results and accountability across all levels of the global team, while encouraging high standards and stressing the importance of continuous improvement
- Conduct data-driven analyses and prepare reports; apply quantitative data analysis methods; conduct data exploration in relation to transactional data as well as internal business indicators
- Apply measurement practices to organize, analyze, and interpret data related to provide actionable information to decision maker
- Proactively analyze threats that create a risk to the company, its employees, shareholders, assets and clients
- Identify and report on operational events and trends, tactical assessments of current and future threats, operational, tactical and strategic recommendations to counter those threats.
- Develop, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) for the existing business model
- Ensure these KPIs and KRIs are aligned to the business model and modified in lines with changing business objectives.
- Ensure appropriate methodology is selected to draw conclusions and make recommendations answering specific business needs.
- Create succinct narrative reports, presentations, visual mapping and link charts or similar diagrams to report analytical assessments
- Display data and the results of analysis in clear straightforward business report that can be understood by non-technical readers
- Provide written explanations of approach and analysis in plain language that supports the conclusions and observations.
- Take ownership in projects and make suggestions for improvement
- Proactively work to identify, communicate, and resolve project issues and risks that interfere with project execution
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years relevant experience
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM major (US Only)
- Technical experience solving big data challenges
- Experience in coordinating projects simultaneously with daily duties
- Can perform all-source analysis
- Analytical experience in open source intelligence, intelligence targeting, or have worked in law enforcement intelligence community
- Experience as a fraud Investigator, Cyber professional or Security professional with excellent analytical mindset
- Certifications from EC-Council, GIAC, (ISC)² [CISSP, C-EH, GCIA, CCNA] or graduate certification(s) in relevant technical or specialty areas
- Depending on the role: General understanding of I.T. network and application analysis; experience in open source media and utilizing visualization software applications. Specifically link analysis e.g. Link Explorer, I-2 or ESRI; experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Data Marts/Data Warehouses; excellent programming and statistical/data analytical skills (VBA, R, Python)
- Knowledge of SAS
