Job duties include daily facility inspections, as well as performing maintenance, repairs, and handling distribution services to help ensure The Charlotte facility is well maintained, operational, and safe. We may perform minor lighting work, mechanical repairs, painting, fleet maintenance and vendor/contractor oversight. Primary areas of attention are supporting technical production facilities and technical equipment rooms. We work independently but should also have a proven record of working well in a collaborative team environment. Ability to competently collaborate with external contractors, sub-contractors and consultants is vital.

What Will You Do?

  • Carry out the vision of the Facilities Management Program that benefits the wellbeing of staff and guests in the areas of work, production and wellness. Make physical repairs or performs routine maintenance to ESPN property.

  • Assist Manager of Facilities with PM’s, troubleshooting electrical and HVAC issues, data installation and termination and minor repairs.

  • Respond to and completes assigned work orders, which include electronically recording actions taken for use in identifying future preventative maintenance/replacement of equipment and building components. Performs daily building inspections detailing Facilities related needs allowing development of associated work orders.

  • Minor maintenance to include- replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. walls, outlets, incandescent/fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ceiling tiles, doors, window treatments, and the reporting of any broken light ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords. etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.

  • Perform weekly routine inspections/maintenance of assigned ESPN company fleet vehicles and prepare reports to be submitted to manager.

  • Supervise inventory levels of housekeeping, lighting, floor coverings, and maintenance repair materials, and advise manager when items need to be reordered.

  • Visually inspects and physically tests machinery and equipment on a monthly basis and prepare a summary report for submission to manager.

  • Coordinate the ESPN mail room and distribution services associated with shipping and receiving and partner with food and beverage vendors to ensure seamless operation of all pantries, vending machines, water dispensers, and coffee machines.

  • Set up and break down tables and chairs for special functions such as large meetings and special events and operate power washing equipment as the need arises.

  • Maintain high levels of internal customer happiness via employee interaction. Member of Emergency Building Response Team and respond to off hour’s emergencies, as needed and to customer service requests.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2 years or more of Facility Operations work experience.

  • Customer service forward attitude

  • Communicate clearly and expertly with all levels of employees and vendors.

  • Basic digital literacy, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Project management and multitasking skills.

  • Experience with distribution services and facilities services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in critical environments.

  • BOMA training/certificates desirable.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience

  • Preferred industry accredited certificate in a related field is a plus
