Polaris Industries, Inc. is looking for a hands on technology leader to support our Monterrey, Mexico’s advanced technology footprint.  This will be a crucial role bridging the divide between Information and Operations technology.

The Shop Floor IT Specialist, has responsibility within the location for the digital networking of production across multiple Polaris plants (PLC, SCADA, Specialized MFG systems, Custom developed systems, etc.) and supports analysis and improvement of risks to production from multiple sources including (but not limited to) server health, network infrastructure, power management and redundant systems

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading

  • Works with local plant and corporate leadership to identify risks and put together plans to reduce risk
  • Partners with local engineering teams (Manufacturing, Controls, Quality, etc.) to identify new capability needs and potential improvement areas
  • Understands the principles of lean production and ensures continuous development of systems
  • Engages with third-party software providers to identify potential issues, improve efficiency and reliability, and drive life-cycle activities (version upgrades, patching, etc.)

Getting Into the Team & Work

  • Partners with plant leadership, manufacturing and controls engineers to identify critical software systems, connected devices (IOT,) IT infrastructure and integrations to develop short and long-term roadmaps, improving efficiency and reliability
  • Manages stakeholder expectations while maintaining an up to date roadmap to be shared with all stakeholders
  • Assists in developing lifecycle planning for critical manufacturing systems (Process control, tools management, IOT, etc.)
  • Interacts with team members at the plants as well as corporate IT and central functions to problem solve / error proof processes
  • Partners with Polaris IT Operations teams to assist in scheduling and coordination of ongoing maintenance to critical infrastructure across Polaris’ plant footprint
  • Engages with local MFG team to establish testing and control procedures on backup systems / procedures  (UPS/power systems, network fail over, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience at the edge of technology and MFG
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experienced with managing industrial network technology
  • Excellent general technology troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding and experience of production processes
  • Experience or interest in Industry 4.0 as well as cloud technology
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, MFG technologies and general IT principles
  • Strong communication skills as well as structured, analytical thinking and acting
