We are looking for a detail oriented, commercially minded lawyer with extensive complex commercial contracting experience to join our legal team.  

 

The role can be based in either our Melbourne or Sydney CBD office. This is a permanent part-time role with flexible hours (equivalent to 3 days per week) which can be worked across the week.   We are happy to accommodate family commitments and school hours, although some after hours work will be required as you will be liaising with other legal team members in the UK and the US.

The Role

Reporting to the General Counsel, and working closely with our in-house legal team across Australia, the UK and the US, this role will focus primarily on drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex commercial contracts. 

 

Requirements

  • This role is suited to a lawyer with strong commercial skills and extensive in house legal experience.
  • Must have significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Applicants with tech contracting experience and a solid understanding of data protection law will be highly regarded. 
  • We are a fun and friendly team. The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively is a must. 
  • Detail oriented and a desire to work in a high growth, fast paced environment 
  • Proactive, with strong organisational and decision making skills
  • Can meet and own deliverables and drive your work to completion within specified timelines from start to finish independently.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
  • A desire to support and develop the more junior legal team members.
  • Able to manage ambiguity and complexity in a cross-functional hybrid global environment.
  • Most importantly, the lawyer who accepts this role should really enjoy working with contracts!
