Reporting to the Global Vice President of Sales Engineering, you will be tasked to hire, coach and lead a team of sales engineers supporting the EMEA region.

 

An exceptional candidate would possess a results-driven mindset, emphasizing collaboration and empathy as a servant leader. In addition to leading a team of sales engineers, you will be a collaborative partner to sales leaders and sellers to solve problems and maintain a healthy, productive relationship between sales and sales engineering. You will play a strategic role in developing and executing sales strategies to win business and build long-term customer relationships. You will also be a key cross-functional touchpoint for product, marketing and other areas of the business needing your team's support. You’ll also be expected to help build a fun, productive and team-based culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales engineers, providing guidance on technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer engagements.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the sales engineering team, ensuring alignment with the overall sales strategy and business objectives.
  • Own your team’s leading and lagging performance indicators to identify risks, trends and areas of improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that prioritizes continuous learning and professional development.
  • Partner with sales leaders and reps to drive quota attainment, execution of strategies and ensure the needs of the field are met.
  • Inspect, advise and participate in deals when appropriate, including technical and strategic problem solving.
  • Hire and onboard new team members. Coach, grow and develop your team's skills through listening and coaching.
  • Assess individual performance and mentor your team on career growth.
  • Run and assist in driving company and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Help to build a great office culture by being in the London (Old Street) office with your team 3 days a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years SE experience selling technical products to large enterprise customers.
  • 5+ years experience managing sales engineering teams, ideally in a second line management role.
  • Proven track record of building and leading successful sales engineering teams by using excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Track record of success at high-growth companies with a focus on both innovation as well as process adherence.
  • Experience working with MEDDICC, Command of the Message, and building sales engineering teams to deliver on these frameworks, e.g. value-based demos, well-scoped proofs of value, building/running sales engineering playbooks.
  • Prior experience working with or troubleshooting web (HTML, CSS, Javascript, REST APIs)
  • History of entering new markets, being scrappy, and being adaptable as strategies shift.
  • And desire to build upon Pendo’s already strong success in EMEA. 

Highly Desired:

  • Experience selling to product or product management teams, or selling analytics products.
  • Familiarity with digital adoption and/or experience selling outcomes of digital transformation and change management.
  • Experience with ecosystems such as Salesforce, Workday, Servicenow, SAP, and other complex enterprise systems.
